Kids
Leavenworth Public Library has a large number of programs and activities specifically tailored for children.
Story Time
is a program for young children that explores a new theme each week with stories, songs, poems, and crafts. Events are about 45 minutes long, and no registration is needed. Themes change weekly, so parents may select the most convenient time to participate each week.
No age restrictions apply to this program, but we do ask that children be removed from the circle when they become too restless. (Children 9 years and younger must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)

Reading Together
This program is to encourage the love of reading in pre-readers. Patents will share twenty-five books with their little ones and record the books on a log sheet provided by the library. For every twenty-five books read, a child will be able to choose a free paperback book to add to their personal library.

Accelerated Reader
We will work as quickly as possible to have a copy of each school's Accelerated Reader List in the Children's Room.
Because each school uses a different computer program or recommended reading list, we must rely on school librarians to provide us with that information.
