Summer Fun!
Summer Reading Program
Children from birth to age 18 may sign up for Summer Reading program as soon as school lets out. Children will sign a contract and make a goal of how many books he/she will read during the summer. Children will receive a prize for their reading accomplishments when they turn in their completed reading log, beginning June 15 through Friday, July 31. Limit one prize per child.
Summer Reading Kick-off
The summer reading kick-off celebration will be held Saturday, May 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Activities include:
- RIF book distribution-each child and young adult may choose two free books to keep.
- Ice cream will be served starting at 1:00 pm.
- Ringmaster Dennis Proter from Happy Faces Entertainment will present “Under the Big Top” at 1:30 pm.

Summer Fun for our patrons ages 9-12 years old. Programs begin at 2:00 pm and sign-up is required.
- Tuesday, June 2: Pictionary-Be creative with TV shows, movies, and more.
- Tuesday, June 9: Bead Work-Wooden beads are the foundation for a bracelet or key chain.
Wednesday, July 8: Political Buttons-We’ll create buttons form your favorite issue.

Story Time
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays,

Story Time is for preschoolers through early elementary age. Children and parents will enjoy stories, finger plays, crafts, and snacks.
- June 2, 3, 4-We’re singing, storytime’s beginning.
- June 9, 10, 11-Cha-Cha Chicken, life in the coop is oh so sweet.
- June 16, 17, 18-Quilts are warm and cozy for all kinds of weather.
- June 23, 24, 25-Boogie Woogie Bunny!
- June 30, July 1, 2-Shake, Rattle, and Roll!
- July 7, 8, 9-Star shine on our flag.
- July 14, 15, 16-Plays, Television, Movies, and Stage.
- July 21, 22, 23-Ballerinas in their tutus, bid you tootle-oo.

Family Nights
All ages are welcome to come and enjoy a fun-filled evening at your library! All programs are held on Thursdays evenings at 7:00 pm.
- June 4-Bob Goodin will be here to “Color Your World” with puppets and more.
- June 11-Ronald Meagher from American Black Belt Academy will show us some martial arts.
- June 18-Denise Sullivan from Leavenworth County Extension Office will “Book and Cook’ for us.
- June 25-Priscilla Howe will tell us amazing stories with her puppet friends.
- July 9-Vivian Ross will come as the “Laundress of the Frontier” and clean us up.
- July 16-The Leavenworth Fire Department will be here to talk about fire safety.
- July 23-Come and play Bingo and win books galore!
