Reading Program

Reading Together: This is a program for pre-readers and an adult to read together. By keeping a log of books shared, the child can earn a free book for each 25 books read. There is a limit of one book each two week. Logs can be found at the Children’s check-out desk. This program continues throughout the school year.

Learning Center: The Learning Center is a special room filled with toys and activities for preschool children. Items in the room change every three months, but there are manipulatives for eye-hand coordination and lots of opportunities for dramatic play.

Story Time

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays,
September 9 to December 4

Story Time is for preschoolers through early elementary age. Children and parents will enjoy stories, finger plays, crafts, and snacks.

• September 9, 10, 11-A tip of the hat to welcome you back.

• September 16, 17, 18-Elephants: They will leave the zoo to have story time with you.

• September 23, 24, 25-Chickens cluck, cluck, cluck and cook-a-doodle-do; these farm stories are just for you.

• September 30, October 1, 2-Doctors, Doctors cure our spots and shivers; we salute these dedicated caregivers.

• October 7, 8, 9-The police officer is our friend; we can depend on them to the end.

• October 14, 15, 16-Snakes are scaly and slithery; they are so long and leathery.

• October 21, 22, 23-Fall leaves are falling down and ghosts are all around.

• October 29, 30-Trick or Treat and the County Courthouse.

• November 4, 5, 6-Hug-A-Bear; Polar, Brown or Teddy for his visit we’ll be ready.

• November 11, 12, 13-We’ll take a story time look at several different types of books.

• November 18, 19, 20-Good nutrition to the food that goes to the tummy; all of it healthy and all of it yummy.

• November 25, 26-Our families gather from far and near and to the pilgrims give a cheer.

• December 2, 3, 4-Christmas is coming full of cheer; we’ll see you after the New Year.

Movie Nights

Family Movie Nights will be held on Thursday September 11, October 23, November 13, and December 11. All programs will held in the Jahn meeting room beginning at 6:30 pm. No advance tickets are required.
