Summer Reading Program
Children from birth to age 11 may sign up for the Summer Reading Program beginning June 2. Children will set up their own reading goal for the summer and sign a contract with the librarian. Upon signing the contract, participants will be issued reading logs to keep track of their reading achievements. Prizes will be awarded to all participants who reach their summer reading goal. The last day to turn in reading logs for prizes is July 31.
Saturday July 14-The Second Reading is Fundamental Book Distribution. Each child may choose two free books to keep.

Family Nights
Our popular Tuesday Family Night Programs have returned for another summer. All programs are held in the Jahn meeting room beginning at 7:00 p.m. They last from 30 to 45 minutes. The schedule for this summer is as follows:
- June 12: Magician Deutsch will dazzle us with some nifty tricks of his own.
- June 19: Brent Dellenger will amaze us with his yo-yo tricks.
- June 26: The McCrae Puppet Show will entertain us with their puppets and marionettes.
- July 3: We will sing some silly songs along with Alan Cunningham into the starry night.
- July 10: Rosie Cutrer will share with us a mysterious story or two.
- July 17: Come and learn to sign some “why” stories.
- July 24: Denise Sullivan from the K-State Extension office will be here to “Cook & Book.”
- July 31: The Leavenworth Fire Department will visit us with their fire trucks.

Group Check-Out for Day Care Providers
Day care providers can sign up for Group Check-Out. Groups reserve the privilege to browse and check out books for up to 45 minutes. Library staff will assist children and their day care provider in making their selection. Due to limited staff, the library will not be able to provide story time for day care groups.

Special Programs
Programs for children ages 9 to 12 will be held on the following days from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. No reservations are needed to attend any of the programs.
- Wednesday, June 13: Join us for an afternoon of fun as we play the Clue Game.
- Wednesday, June 27: Let’s play Pictionary-the game that plays like charades, only on paper!
- Wednesday, July 11: Test your skills to see how much you know about literary detectives. Bring a team for some mysterious fun.
